Youth Group!

We will start next fall's Youth Group Ministry with a BBQ party at Lake Quivira on August 24th, Stay tuned for more details and directions!

We are getting together as a youth group on July 20th following the 10:45 service until 2pm. We will resume a regular schedule of meetings in the Fall, with our Kick off at Lake Quivira on August 24and then regular sessions each Sunday, from 7-8:30pm, beginning Sept 7th

Reaching Out To the Community!

This summer we are hoping to start a Junior High program for the students at St. Thomas that has them reaching out into with acts of service to our community. It is a day camp where we start by gathering at the church at 8am for a little program and then we head out to our different worksites that we have lined up through out the week. Some of the worksites include; Harvesters, St. Paul’s Pantry, and CFCA. We will be spending our morning at these worksites, learning of all the different needs of our community and seeing how we can help. We will then eat our packed lunch before heading off to our fun afternoon activity. We will be doing all sorts of things in the afternoon, like going to the pool, going bowling, going to the movies, etc. At for all their hard work, at the end of the week we are going to go to Worlds of Fun as a reward for everybody’s hard work. This fun filled week is for students who finished 5th grade this past spring 05/08 and for those entering into 9th grand this fall 09/08. The event takes place from July 14th-18th, from 8am-5pm and the Cost is just $50. (There will be an adult at St. Thomas 30mins prior to 8am and 30mins following 5pm, for parents who need a little extra time before and after work to make sure their child can attend the event.) You can find applications on the Youth Board in the hall of St. Thomas. Applications are due to Katie by July 7th. For any questions, email Katie Knoll kknoll@stthomasop.org.
